About the trail
This is an historic route connecting Jondal and Krossdalen with Sørfjorden. A rough translation of Buførevegen is “the path to take the cattle and sheep into the mountains”. There are beautiful views of Sørfjorden and the Folgefonna glacier. The hike takes you into the Folgefonna National Park. The trail has been restored with assistance from Sherpas from Nepal rebuilding the trail with stones. Infoboard at Reiseter. Partly steep. Do not continue to hike past the first stone cairn (markers) at Reisetereggje (at 1,200 meters above sea level) without a local guide. The terrain is difficult and challenging.
