Hiltahuset is located on Røvær, half an hour by boat from Haugesund. It is the oldest house on the island, and the museum tells the story of life on Røvær 150 years ago.

The museum is worth a visit because of the many artefacts and photographs that show Karmøy's past as an important fishing centre. You can also see one of the few herring salting houses that has been kept.
