The museum is located in idyllic surroundings just outside Egersund. Built around 1850, it was originally the district judge Christian Feyer's country estate. The area later housed a German military encampment during World War 2.
The beautiful gardens, the buildings and the larch forest make out the museum's framework. The exhibitions give an insight into everyday life in the area of Dalane during the 1800s and early 1900s. The thematic exhibitions focus on agriculture, traditional handicrafts as well as World War 2.
