The day-trip cabin on Stord
The day-trip cabin on Stord is located at Utslettefjellet in Sagvåg. The hike from the parking area to the cabin is about 1.2 km and takes approximately one hour.
Access and parking
You can park at Nysæter Sports Field, above the artificial turf fields near Solidhuset (the sports hall).
If you’re coming via the E39, take the exit at Heiane and drive along Sagvågsvegen for about 3.3 km (follow signs toward destinations such as Stord Airport). In Sagvåg, turn left at the roundabout by Rema 1000 onto Fitjarvegen. After 500 meters, turn right (signposted for the day-trip cabin). Continue 800 meters on Utslettevegen, where you will reach the designated parking area.
The trail begins with a steep ascent on a mix of rocky and earthen ground. The hike includes about 200 meters of elevation gain over 1,100 meters, making it quite steep—especially at the beginning. After around 400 meters of climbing, the trail flattens out slightly. Keep to the right and follow the path across a marshy area for about 600 meters before turning left for a moderate climb over the last 300 meters leading to the cabin.
