Djupadalen is easily accessible from Haugesund city centre. You can start the hike from the city centre, or from the parking lot at Stemmen. From the city centre you follow Skjoldavegen to Djupadalen, via Kattanakk and Haraldsvang and back to the city centre. Approximately 3 km from the start you will find yourself at the point called Stemmen, a small dam with a white wooden house on top. The trail along the west side of the water is universally designed with leading edges along path. There are numerous hiking trails in the area and Djupadalen is also used as touring base for trips up to Steinsfjellet and to the rest of Byheiene. In summertime you can swim in Eivindsvannet, a small lake in the middle of this recreational area.
