The stone circle "Domsteinene" is located near Stavanger International Airport, and is maybe one of Norway's most mysterious, ancient memories. For more than 250 years, archaeologists, historians and locals have pondered on its usage. Stone circles such as these are rare, and Domsteinene is one of the most characteristic stone circles in the Nordic countries. The hypothesis on why the stone circle is located where it is, and what it was used for is several. Does it tell a story of the directions of the sky, or is it a place of sacrifice? What is your theory? The stone circle is signposted from the North Sea Road (Nordsjøvegen) and there is parking nearby.

Whether you are into history or Outlander, you may find these stone circles interesting. If they make time travelling possible is another matter though. But what where they used for these stone circles?
