The county road crosses the river so you can look down into the waterfall from the bridge. You can follow a footpath down to the gorge's edge from the picnic area. Here, you'll find Håvard's Stone. The stone was supposedly hand lifted by the strong man Håvard Valevatn from Sirdal during the construction of the old road along the waterfall. The stone weighs 3,200 kilos, is it true or just a tale? Another ancient, local legend tells us that death-sentenced people could save their lives by jumping over the falls in a particular place.

Dorgefoss waterfall in Sirdal
Dorgefoss is a beautiful sight. The river Sira is regulated, and the amount of water in the waterfall therefore varies.
