The summer ski resort FONNA Glacier Ski Resort is located on the Folgefonna glacier. Here you will find alpine slopes for advanced skiers, a freestyle park from around mid-June, and opportunities for both snowshoeing and husky tours. From the top of the ski lift, at 1450 meters above sea level, there is a fantastic view of the glacier, the Hardangerfjord, and the North Sea. The 19 km long road from Jondal town center to Folgefonna is a natural experience in itself. Follow the signs to Folgefonna from Jondal town center. At Fonna, there is ski equipment rental.
Snowshoeing tours can be booked on the glacier guide's website, and husky tours can be booked on the Folgefonna Huskycamp website. There are also opportunities for lunch at the restaurant Fonna1199.
The season usually starts in late April or early May and lasts until the end of August.
The ski resort is open from 9 AM to 3 PM at the beginning of the season, and from 9 AM to 4 PM from around mid-June.
Fonna Glacier Ski Resort is 19 km from Jondal town center, a 25-minute drive from the fjord and up to the glacier. From Bergen, it takes about 2 hours to get to the ski resort.
