Galtadalen valley

Drive over the bridge to Holmen in Bjerkreim. Follow the road toward left where the road divides. Parking on yard at the inner farm. Marked red sticks and painted red circles. Grading: easy hike. Both Holmen and Galtadalen are 80 metres above sea level, the trip continues over a ridge, onwards towards both uphill terrain as well as downwards. Time: From Holmen to Galtadalen you arrive in around a 30 minutes' walk. If children come along account for a little longer time. Nice trip for all ages. Some advice for the trip: bring along swimwear, as there is a lovely beach when arriving at the bottom of the valley. Grazing animals along the first parts of the hike. The hike could be combined with a hike to Såtå.     Hike from Holmen-Galtadalen. Start and end: From Holmen in Bjerkreim to Galtadalen located by the lake Ørsdalsvatnet. Parking: From the E39, turn at Gjedrem.
