Uteguiden will safely guide you across Romsdalseggen while sharing their local knowledge to give you a better experience of the area you are visiting. Along the way, you can enjoy the view of the Troll Wall, the river far down in the Romsdalen valley, and the view out over the fjord. You are sorrounded by alpine mountains towering up to 1800 m.a.s.l., and the route borders to both Reinheimen and Dovrefjell & Sunndalsfjella national parks.
There will be several stops along the way, and we will also enjoy a packed lunch brought with us from a local producer. The hike over Romsdalseggen is a long and demanding hike of about 10 km, with about 1000 meters of ascent and descent. But it's definitely rewarding! If you are in good shape and you are used to hiking in the exposed mountains on natural trails, this is an adventure for you.
What to bring:
- Outdoor clothing suitable for hiking
- Water repellent and windstopper jacket
- Waterproof hiking boots
- Wool underwear, wool socks
- Mid-layer such as fleece or wool
- Hat and gloves
- 20-25L backpack
- At least 1 liter of water and some extra energy is recommended
- Camera

Bus ticket from Åndalsnes to starting point of the hike.
