Egersund Fayancemuseum tells the story of Egersunds Fayancefabrik (1847-1979). The factory was founded in 1847 as "Egersunds Potteri". The founder, Johan Feyer, learned the art of pottery through studies in Newcastle upon Tyne. Feyer's factory soon became the largest producer of stoneware in Norway.

Learn more about the factory and its products through a guided tour at Egersund Fayancemuseum! The guide tells you the story of Norway's first industrial stoneware factory, in operation for 132 years. You will learn about the factory's products and the work process from a fresh lump of clay to the finished product. When the tour is over, you can explore the exhibitions in greater detail on your own.

Guided tours must be booked in advance and can be booked both within and outside of the museum's opening hours. Send an inquiry by email to agree on a date and time for your visit. The guided tour lasts for up to 45 minutes.
