The hike starts by the wooden bridge by the parking at Liarvatnet lake, about 10 min drive from Jørpeland.
From there you follow "lysløypen" (a trail with lights) until Småsildbekken (a stream). Follow the signs towards Heiahorn. Right after the sign that says "Grimsli" the trail continue to the right. The trail is steep up in the beginning of Småsilddalen. Some of the trail goes through dense forest, but it will be easier when you pass the tree line.
From the top the view is magnificent. You will see many of Rogalands mountains peaks and the Ryfylke harbor that goes all the way to Stavanger. In the immediate vicinity of the peak are a number of lakes that you look down upon.
Some chose to walk down the same train, but we recommend to take the round trip down through Småsildalen
Back at the car, you can take a refreshing swim in Liarvatnet lake.
