Get to Nesatindane
To reach Nesatindane, start at Kjerag Parking, situated 640 meters above sea level. The 11-kilometre round-trip hike to Kjerag and Nesatindane involves climbing and descending three hills, with a total elevation gain of about 750 metres. It typically takes 5–6 hours for most hikers, so plan your day accordingly.
The trail to Kjerag and Nesatindane is well-marked and challenging, taking hikers over granite terrain with some steep sections and stairs built by Nepalese Sherpas. About 300 meters before reaching Kjeragbolten, a side path leads to Nesatindane.

While Kjeragbolten draws thrill-seekers to its rock wedged above the fjord, Nesatindane appeals to a broader range of visitors. Its expansive plateau provides breathtaking views from a safe distance, capturing the fjord from Lysebotn to Preikestolen and beyond. Visitors at Nesatindane can enjoy unique vistas, and on some days, they may even see BASE jumpers leaping from nearby cliffs, landing at Geitaneset peninsula, visible from this vantage point—a spot not viewable from Kjeragbolten.
