Description of walk

The fifth tallest waterfall in Norway. In 2011, CNN cited Langfoss as being one of the ten most beautiful waterfalls in the world. The waterfall has a total fall of 612 metres, and it can be seen clearly from the starting point. The path up Langfoss starts by the picnic area and follows the old summer pasture farm road from Eljarvik and up to Langfosstølen summer pasture farm. Getting to the top of the waterfall and looking all the way down to where you started is an incredible experience. The Åkrafjord winds its way between mountains of more than 1,000 metres and the magnificent Folgefonna glacier can be seen towering above them in the distance.

If you would like a shorter trip, stop at the first top called "Varahaugen" (aprox. 604 m.a.s.l) This trip takes aprox. 2 hours there and back.
