Stage by stage to Solvorn-Nipa
Solvorn - Setålen: A trip of about 1 hour. At the start, you follow the old stølsvegen until it meets the forest road. Here you can choose two further routes. a) Follow the forest road to the path on the east side of Setålen. This is the easiest route. b) The other alternative is to turn right at the intersection, follow the forest road for about 100 m and then turn off and follow the old støl road up Langebakken to the støl.
A round trip is thus perfectly possible here. Great views await at Setålen. Previously, there were four seals on the stole. A quarter of the main farm had fenced mowing fields with scythes. The hay was driven to Solvorn by horse and sleigh in the winter. One year there was no snow, they set up a trail line, the remains of which can still be seen.
Setålen - Fjellstølen: This trip takes 1/2-1 hour. The road winds in steep terrain - first through a pine forest, then through the birch belt before it gets lighter, and the old stølstuften on Fjellstølen appear with fine grass embankments and a great view into the Lustrafjord.
Fjellstølen Solvorn-nipa: The trip further up Solvorn-nipa takes about 1 ½ hours. The path is marked into Hestdalen past the watershed towards Sogndal. Here the path takes off up along the birch trail above Blåberg. The landscape opens up on the back side of Solvorn-nipa, and there is a great view towards Barnsesfjorden and Sogndal. Above the forest, it is possible to walk in most places to the cairn at the top 1031 m.a.s.l. At the top you can enjoy a great view towards Vetle-Haugmelen in the south-east, Sogndal in the south-west, and inwards the Lustrafjorden towards Jotunheimen
