The Iron Age Farm at Ullandhaug in Stavanger is a reconstructed farmstead from the Migration Period (350-550 AD).

The farm is three kilometres from the Stavanger city centre, with a magnificent view of the Northern Jæren region and Hafrsfjord.

The Iron Age Farm is reconstructed on the original archaeological site for a farmstead from the Migration Period. The farm is the only one of its kind in Norway, reconstructed on the original archaeological site. The three houses have equipment and domestic utensils, and there is a fire burning on the original fireplaces. At the Iron Age Farm, you are greeted by the mistress of the farm. It is an unreal sentiment to sit around the fireplace in the same manner as perhaps a family did 1500 years ago.

Visitor Centre with Cafe

Jernaldergården's visitor centre is located next to the farm. The centre contains a café, exhibition, and toilets and is open during the farm's opening hours.

  • *The Iron Age Farm is seasonally closed during the winter months. The Iron Age Farm will reopen on 2 May 2025. Open for booked groups/school classes all year round.
  • NB: School holidays have extended opening hours - see website for information!
