Klostergarden has kayaks for adults (five people) and children (two people) for rent, with full equipment. The equipment can be reserved in advance if you want to ensure availability, or rented on site from the farm shop at Utstein.
The bay Klostervågen is an area with calm waters sheltered from wind and waves. Outside the strait Fjøløysundet, there is an open sea and more demanding waters. The kayaks can be rented without a guide, or tours can be set up with guides from Utstein Gard who give you stories and the history of the farmland. There are animals grazing all year round on the farm and you can see the grazing animals from the sea around Utstein.
Utstein has a particular national value with the cultural-historical landscape and agricultural elements that give the area character, and the farm was protected as a cultural environment in 1999. Klostergarden also offers food baskets with local food and drinks. Take baskets with you or agree on delivery at an agreed break location. You are responsible for your own safety in using the kayaks.
