Perched on a plateau 45 metres above sea level, Kråkenes Lighthouse is surrounded by the ocean on three sides. When storms rage, waves and sea spray hammer against the windows, reminding you that it’s best to stay inside. The lighthouse has its own weather station, which sends data to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, and it is said to be one of the windiest places along the Norwegian coast.

Despite its reputation for stormy days, Kråkenes Lighthouse offers a truly unique experience—sitting outside in absolute stillness, watching the sunset over the open sea, is something you won’t forget.

How to Get to Kråkenes Lighthouse?

From Måløy town centre, drive along National Road 618 towards Refvik and Kråkenes. After about 8 km, turn at the sign for Kråkenes. Follow the road for another 10 km, all the way to the lighthouse. The road is narrow and winding, so drive carefully.
