The mountain is located on the peninsula between Yrkjefjorden, Vindafjorden, Nedstrandsfjorden and Hervikfjorden. Here you get a magnificent view in all directions. When you are at Lammanuten, you are 631 meters above sea level and you have a great view to Folgefonna in the east, and Stavanger in south. You can also see large parts of Northern Rogaland and Sunnhordland from here. The roundtrip takes about 4-5 hours, and it is best suited for people with hiking experience.

By the parking lot you can find signs that shows you where you can go, and the path is marked with red. At first you follow a tractor-path up Bordalen. After about 30 minutes walk, the terrain flattens out into a marsh before you reach the mountain ridge. You follow this up towards the top, where the view is spectacular. At the top there is also a book to write your name in. In the mountain area at Lammanuten you can find ruins after old building that belonged to the farms. The area was also used for hunting, and there are supposed to be animal graves here. The water in Sandvikstemmen gave in its time waterpower to Sandvika. In nice weather you can walk across Gråfjellet and come down at the end of the tractor-path. This path is not marked.
