320 persons lost their lives during the migration to England during World War II. The monument was inaugurated May 8th 1995 by His Majesty Crown Prince Haakon, for the 50th end of war anniversary. The monument is made by Olav Stavseng.

Monument of the World War II North Sea Traffic
The monument "Englandsfarten" is situated in the small "peace park" at Skateflua in Ålesund, in remembrance of all Norwegians who traveled over the North Sea to Great Britain during the World War II.
