Eidsvågtraversen starts from the parking area at Meisalvatnet, passing through Storhaugen (724 meters above sea level), Middagshaugen (724 meters above sea level), and ends with the Sherpa steps down Prestaksla (609 meters above sea level) to the Vicarage at Nesset. You can choose to hike there and back or take a local taxi from the Vicarage at Nesset to Meisalfjellet.
Hiking description
From the parking lot at Meisalvatnet, follow the signposted poles. The trail heads towards Myrsetskaret, crossing under the power line and following the mountain ridge up towards Litlhaugen. Continue on the trail towards Storhaugen. From this point, enjoy a magnificent view over Langfjorden. The hike then continues over Middagshaugen, revealing views of the majestic mountains at the innermost part of Eresfjorden. Proceed to Prestaksla and descend the Sherpa stone steps towards the Vicarage at Nesset. The final part of the trail goes through a spruce forest and forest road.
Finish with a refreshing swim
If you wish to conclude your hike with a refreshing swim in Langfjorden, you can bathe from the rocks at Skjæran or Prestneset nearby, or at Eidsvåg beach, which has a shallow sandy beach. Here, you can also rent kayaks, canoes, and SUPs.

You can choose to hike there and back or take a local taxi from the Vicarage at Nesset to Meisalfjellet. Parking is available at the Vicarage at Nesset where the hike ends.

If hiking in both directions: From Eidsvåg, drive about 2 km on FV 62 towards Sunndalsøra. Pass Tovenkrysset until you reach the Tiltereidet height, where the descent to Eidsøra begins. Look for the "Meisalfjellveien" sign, turn right onto a gravel road leading up to Brandholen. Follow the toll road up to Meisalfjellet. There is a large parking area for hikers about 300 meters before Meisalvatnet.
