The Potato Festival on Jæren has traditions dating back to 1998 when the trade association in Bryne, with Olav Ausdal at the helm, initiated this festival with a potato theme. Over the years, the Potato Festival has developed into a major festival for the market, trade and a showcase for everything that happens at Jæren in terms of culture and business.

Regular features on the Potato Festival programme

The Potato Festival has many traditions that have come to stay: The Little Grey Fergie Parade, the swimming duck race, the World Championships in Potato Fork throwing, the tent where they serve the Norwegian dish, komle, and the sale of potatoes in buckets, to name but a few. The festival is constantly evolving with new attractions and activities.

Welcome to the Potato Festival at Jæren, the festival for the whole family!
