Day trip with fjord cruise to the Lysefjord and hike to Preikestolen
This day trip offers three spectacular experiences in one. Rødne Fjord Cruise's brand new electric boat first takes you on a fjord cruise through the beautiful Lysefjord. Sailing in the near silence of a battery-powered boat in such stunning scenery makes the experience even more special.
Experience the wildlife in the Lysefjord
On the way to Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), the boat stops to feed the goats grazing in the mountainside. You might even see a seal basking in the sun on the rocky shore with some luck. Then you see Fantahålå (the Vagabond's Cave) where the "vagrants" hid from the sheriff in the old days. Shortly afterwards, you'll see the magnificent Preikestolen, 604 meters above the boat, a little while before you hike up to enjoy the view from the top. Then you continue to the mighty Hengjanefossen waterfall where the crew steers the boat so close to the towering falls that you might feel its refreshing spray on your face!
Modern boat with comfort
The modern, comfortable boats have sundecks, spacious cabins and kiosks offering refreshments, including beer and wine. The kiosk offers fresh and tempting baked goods from a local bakery. Change of boat may occur.
Bus from Forsand to Preikestolen Mountain Lodge
After a fjord cruise filled with good experiences, a bus picks you up at Forsand and takes you to Preikestolen Mountain Lodge at the trailhead for the hike to the world-famous Preikestolen plateau. The hike takes roughly two hours each way and is an unforgettable adventure!
Return to Stavanger by bus through the world's longest underwater tunnel.
