Hike description
There is a marked trail from the car park to the top. The first kilometre up to Strandabrynene passes through a smooth pine forest and over to heather moorland.
Then there is a somewhat steeper bend on the southwest side of Krossen - before it levels out for about a kilometre. You are now crossing the border between Strand and Hjelmeland municipalities. The final stretch up to Reinaknuten climbs from 600 to 748 metres above sea level and is the hardest part of the trip.
The route to Reinaknuten is the first part of an old transport and logging road to Årdal and Årdalsheiane. You can continue to Målandsdalen from Reinaknuten.
Before the ascent to Reinaknuten, you can look down Skomakarjuvet to Nedre Tysdalvatnet, an exciting photo opportunity.
