Romsdal Lodge and Guiding presents a 5-day alpine skiing adventure in the spectacular mountaineering landscape in Romsdalen. The program starts at the charming Romsdal Lodge in Isfjorden, only 10 minutes from Åndalsnes.
Day 1
Arrival at Romsdal Lodge in Isfjorden. Gather with the guide and your fellow skiers, for trip planning and packing before a delicious dinner. Accommodation this first night is at the lodge.
Day 2
Early start with joint transport to Grøvdalen. This is the starting point for the alpine adventure. Ski through beautiful forest and on a good pat, heading towards Svartvassbu (999 masl). Arrival and check in at DNT cabin, before exploring Nyheitind (1598 masl) and / or Sjøvdøla (1719 masl) during the afternoon - two fantastic mountains in the area. This will be a long day, but you will get a lot of great skiing. Return to Svartvassbu and enjoy a well needed skiiers-dinner, before planning day 3 and a good night's rest.
Day 3
This day will take you to the ascent of Styggeværshaugen (1371 masl). In good conditions, there will be a ski trip to the east side before the trip down to Horndalen. Today's lunch is enjoyed during Melkallen. From here you get a long climb towards Vasstindbu (1190 masl) which has been named one of Norway's most beautifully situated DNT Cabin. If you have more “gunpowder” in your legs, it is possible for a short trip up Kalvgjeltinden (1279 masl) or Nordre Vasstinden (1378 masl) before dinner and planning the next day.
Day 4
The day starts with the steepest descent of the trip north in Kalvgjelbotn. Well down, the trip continues over the traverse south and further flat over Kjøvdalsvatnet. The climb is the last challenge of the trip and goes up in an area rarely visited by ski climbers. You are now at the back of Norway's best summit mountain, Kirketaket. Further up at Hesteskoen it’s time for lunch. From here, the skis are put on your rucksack to climb Kirketaket (1439 masl) via the northern ridge. Enjoy a fantastic view and 1200 meters of skiing all the way down to Romsdal Lodge where the lodge chef is ready with a 3-course dinner and a good drink.
Day 5
Breakfast and summary over a cup of coffee before heading home.
