About Ona

Ona is Norway’s southernmost active fishing village, with around 25 permanent residents. The island also has a ceramic workshop and a small kiosk shop. During summer, there is a café and accommodation available.

At Onakalven, the island’s highest point, stands Ona Lighthouse. From here, you’ll get a spectacular view over the ocean and towards the mainland.

Ona is a beautiful destination year-round. The island is exposed to rough weather, so it’s important to bring warm and windproof clothing. If you travel outside the summer high season, you should also bring food and drinks, as the selection in the island’s shop is limited.
