How do I get to Nykshytta?
Follow fv609 from Førde or Askvoll until you reach Holmedal. Above the church, drive towards the mountain on a municipal road for about 1.5 km before turning right for another 1 km. You are now in a car park at the waterworks in Holmedal. There are signs along the way
Season for the trip to Nykshytta
Dagsturhytta Nykshytta is open to visitors all year round, but the trip is recommended during the period when there is no snow and ice at the top, and the way up.
Tour description to Nykshytta
The path up to the cabin is about 2 km and at a normal pace it will take you around 45 minutes. The cabin has solar cells to provide heat and light in the cabin, as well as outside. From the cabin you have a great view of the Dalsfjorden.
The day trip cabin is a low-threshold offer for hikers - a place to eat your packed lunch and get some warmth. Each cabin has a Nynorsk tour library with many different books. It is not allowed to spend the night in the cabin.
