The museum is built across parts of an excavation site from the old trading community, and the interesting exhibitions inside display the findings from the extensive archaeological research in the area. Through pictures and artefacts you have the opportunity to see how the people in Sunnmøre lived their lives 500-1000 years back. Go outside and explore the area on your own, and see if you can discover the traces of old churches and port facilities. Take a stroll along the pier and enjoy the magnificent boats at display, and pop in at Sunnmøre Museum close by to see beautiful old houses and study building customs.
