The planet Merkur is closest to the sun, 59,9 kilometres away. If you walk the planet trail, you'll truly experience how much space there is in our solar system! Starting with the sun, the planets follow in a row up the park. The last planet, Pluto, is located at the lake Stokkelandsvannet.

Sandvedparken

Sandnes' green oasis stretches 3.5 km along the Storånå watercourse, from Sandnes to Stokkelandsvatn lake in Ganddal. Sand volleyball court, playground and blissful picnic spots. Located in the park is the protected Skeiane farmstead with wooden houses now considered worthy of preservation. Around the Stokkalandsvatn lake, you can enjoy an almost 4-kilometre-long walk through a landscape rich in contrasts with heather-covered hills, open grazing land and woodlands. The reeds that grow by the lake are a type that was traditionally woven into mats and used as cladding on buildings in Jæren. The area around Stokkalandsvannet lake has varied flora and fauna.
