Experience the Troll Wall and the surrounding mountains in the best possible way. From the top of Store Trolltind (1788 meters above sea level), you have an impressive and close-up view of the Troll Wall, but you can also see Romsdalshorn, Blåtinden and Romsdalseggen on the other side of Romsdalen.
The hike to Store Trolltind offers technical sections where you need to move along narrow ledges, climb around and over edges on your way to the top. If you have little mountain experience or feel nervous about heights, we recommend choosing a different hike. If you are in good shape and enjoy moving around in exposed mountain landscapes, then this is the hike for you.
Tour description
The hike starts from the Trollstigplatået at the top of Trollstigen. You will find the first half of the hike to be relatively easy and a good warm-up. The last quarter of the hike in particular is more technical and demanding, with balancing and scrambling up to the top of Store Trolltind. At the top you can enjoy the most spectacular view down the Troll Wall, which rises 1100 meters from the bottom in Romsdalen to the top where you stand. From here you can see mountains, fjords and valleys as far as the eye can see. You can even glimpse the Atlantic Ocean in the far west.

Important information
This is a demanding mountain hike and we do not always reach the top. This may be due to bad weather or if a guest in the group turns out not to be in good enough physical condition. If we see that the top is not possible to reach based on the weather in advance of the tour, plan B is to offer a similar tour.
Your safety
Uteguiden has safety requirements and before the hike you are asked to read their safety rules and submit a self-declaration form before the start of the activity.
