Vannbassengan in Egersund is a large lake with bathing places and a beautiful forest area with hiking trails, some of which are illuminated. The hilly and varied coniferous forest area northeast of the centre of Egersund is named after the old waterworks that supplied the Egersund population with drinking water for many years. Both the lakes and the open canals provide additional variety in the forest.
Due to its location and user-friendly infrastructure with toilets and parking spaces, Vannbassengan is now one of the most popular recreational areas in Dalane.
