Venterommet (the waiting room) has large glass windows that make you fell close to the fjord and mountains. Jensen and Skodvin architect's offices have designed the unique glass building.
In 2021, small and large furniture elements, such as chairs and tables, were built from materials from recycled plastic boats from Ryfylke, as well as lanterns and lamps. They now stand up as clusters of artificial "mushrooms".
The ferry traffic across the fjord, Sand-Ropeid, was discontinued in 2016, but there is still a scheduled boat that operates Stavanger - Sand - Sauda.
