Veraland and Ims is characterized by being an open and bare moorland, but it also has swamp areas and pine forest with a rich flora and fauna. Here you can find some good viewing points. Both during summer and winter you could find deer grazing in the area. There are many big and small round hiking trips available. The area also gives the chance to pick up berries, especially blueberries. Take Rv 13 from Sandnes, later take Fv 316 towards Lauvvik. The round trips are marked and signalized. The easiest one with parking spaces is at Veraland, along the Fv 316.
For hiking in the northern part, you drive Rv 13 to Ims where there is parking or continue to Dansen for parking.
In the Ims area, it is nice for kayaking. Please keep the dog in a leash!
