There are several burial mounds on the farm as well as other finds from the early Stone Age and later.
The oldest building is the smokehouse in the main building complex, which was added on later and probably dates from the 17th century. You will also find outhouses, a byre, a barn, a corn mill and a traditional boathouse. In 1990 a historical orchard was opened, where old varieties of fruit and the rich fruit traditions of Hjelmeland are preserved. The roofs with slates from local slate quarries are a distinctive feature of Vigatunet.
