You can walk to Vindbalhytta from several directions on Utsira. If you start from Nordvikvågen, where the boat docks, the walk is 2 kilometres long. The hiking route is very easy, but in rainy periods the terrain can be very wet, especially the last 100 metres to the cabin, so good waterproof shoes are recommended.

Is it allowed to stay overnight in the day trip cabin?

It is not permitted to stay overnight in the day trip cabins, but there are several accommodation options on Utsira.You can spend the night at the lighthouse areaNordvikgården ( DNT), Bølgen and Sildaloftet.


Is there a toilet at the cabin?

There are no organised toilets at the day trip cabin. The nearest toilets are located at Brakko in Sørevågen, 200 metres away, and at Joker Butikk, 350 metres away from the cabin.


Universal design

If the weather and the path are dry, the hike is suitable for everyone; if the path is wet after rain, it will be very difficult to get around with prams, wheelchairs, etc.
