Mølstertunet - an authentic, heritage-listed farmstead consisting of sixteen buildings - is a central part of the museum. This farmstead provides a unique insight into the building traditions and lives of the past. The oldest of the buildings dates back to 1634.
The houses in the farmstead are open for visitors to explore by themselves, but if you would like a guided tour, this is included in the ticket price and takes place every hour during the summer season. In July, there is a performance of folk music several times a day, and on Fridays in July, women from the local Women’s Institute prepare traditional baked goods. Children can take part in Eventyrlege Mølster (Mølster Adventures), which includes dressing-up, drawing, walking on stilts, or exploring the buildings.
The main building houses the exhibition A view at Voss. Past meets present in this new main exhibition, which shows the history of the village from the 16th century to the present. Our aim is to provide a stimulating, entertaining and informative experience, and we hope you leave knowing more about Voss than you did before!
We have a café with freshly baked traditional Norwegian pancakes and a museum shop offering locally produced goods.
Voss Folk Museum also owns Nesheimstunet, Opheim old rectory, and Dagestad Museum. These are open for group visits by appointment
