Flokehyttene is located in the sea gap in Sveio and is owned by the Haugesund Tourist Association. Accommodation at Flokehyttene is equally spectacular all year round; from quiet summer evenings with the sun setting on the horizon to autumn storms raging outside the panoramic windows.

There are five cabins in total, each named after the family and important people around Ravnafloke (Floke Vilgerdsson); his grandfather Horda-Kåre, his mother Vilgerd, his daughters Geirhild and Tjodgerd, and Faxe who journeyed with Floke on the boat to Iceland.

What is the capacity of the Floke cabins?

At just 18 square metres, you'll find enough room to sleep five people, a kitchen, living room and toilet. The largest cabin, Horda-Kåre, is double the size and is adapted for wheelchair users. It sleeps up to 10 people.

Where can I book accommodation in Flokehyttene?

Flokehytten is part of Haugesund Tourist Association and can be booked here. Discounts are available for members of the Norwegian Tourist Association (DNT).

Facilities at Flokehyttene

The cabins have both electricity and water, as well as their own toilet and sink. A wood-burning fireplace is available, and log lights and matches are included. Candles or tea lights are not allowed.

The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need for cooking, including a fridge, oven, hob, coffee maker with filter, baking paper and aluminium foil. In addition, the cabins are equipped with toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap and cleaning products for guests' use.

As unattended cabins, you need to bring your own food and bed linen or sheet bag. Plain sheets are best suited for the benches along the window. A headlamp or torch is recommended, as the hiking trail from Mølstrevåg has no lighting.

Are pets allowed in the Floke cabins?

Dogs are allowed in one of the cabins. This applies to the cabin named Geirhild.
