The purpose of the organisation is to promote interest in walks and hikes in the surrounding area, and in Haugalandet this area extends from Utsira in the west to Seljestad and the Etnefjellene mountains in the east. Haugesund Turistforening offers a variety of accommodation options both on the coast and in the mountains. Along the coast, you will find the popular Flokehyttene cabins at Ryvarden, Geitungen lighthouse in Skudeneshavn and Villa Vibrandsøy in Haugesund. In the mountains, the organisation runs the cabins Simlebu, Blomstølen, Storavassbu and Olalia, to name a few.
Haugesund Turistforening
Haugesund Turistforening (under the Norwegian Trekking Association) has good knowledge of hiking destinations in the vicinity, as well as the many accommodation options available in scenic surroundings such as Flokehyttene cabins, Villa Vibrandsøy and Blomstølen.
