Tindesenteret – museum and climbing centre
It is impossible to overlook Norsk Tindesenter when you are in Åndalsnes centre. The special building houses one of Norway's highest climbing walls but also easier bouldering walls. You will also find a museum showing the development of rock climbing in Norway. Test how it feels to lie in a hanging tent or to base jump yourself!
Take your time at a café
There are several cafés in Åndalsnes. Sødahlhuset specializes in local ingredients. Tindestua is located in Tindesenteret climbing centre and is an excellent spot to plan your trips and excursions while you wait for the good weather.
The Romsdalen gondola
You can even get to the mountain with more or less dry shoes! Go for a ride with the Romsdal gondola, and you will get an immediate feeling of the mountains. Have a taste of local food or drinks at the Eggen Restaurant and enjoy the fabulous view.
Go shopping
The centre of Åndalsnes has several independent shops with a varied and good selection of mountain and hiking equipment. Among others, you will find Lanullva, a local clothing brand offering durable wool garments in colours inspired by nature. Other stores with local roots are Fjordbuda, Inkvart, Classic, I & Me, Kirppis, Mitt Fjell, Sigv. Kavli, and Vollan shoes.
