The hike to Brenslen starts at Småge ferry port, but you can also choose to start the hike by the parking lot next to Smågevatnet if there is no more available space left in the parking lot by Småge ferry port. The trailhead from the ferry port is located to the right of the bus shelter next to the parking lot, tracing the coastline towards Brenslen on a soft trail. Enjoy a beautiful ocean view throughout the hike! If you continue on the path from Brenslen towards Smågevatnet, you will eventually arrive at the lean-to shelter.
Smågevatnet is a nature reserve known for its rich bird and animal life. The rest stop next to Smågevatnet is the perfect place for barbequing, canoeing and taking shelter in the lean-to shelter on a windful day. There are canoes, paddles and life vests available for rent. Make sure you call Aukra municipality in advance to get the keys to the equipment (+47 71 17 15 00).

Get on the ferry from Hollingsholmen ferry port to Aukra ferry port and follow the signs to Røssøyvågen and Småge.
