You can park at Vieåsen kindergarten. There is also a marked trail from the central hospital. To reach the kindergarten, turn off from E39 to Vie. Follow Vievegen and turn off to Vieåsen. Follow the road until you reach the kindergarten and park next to the artificial turf field.
Tour description to the day trip cabin Gytta
Start the hike at the activity park in Vieåsen. Take a steep and gravel path to the left, passing the houses. At the end of the gravel road, there is a well-marked trail. The hike is well-developed with both stones, roots, and soft terrain but characterized by being a well-used path. The cabin is slightly below Vetle Viefjellet, and you can continue to Viefjellet. From there, you can proceed even further to Soleide.
The hike to the cabin takes about 20 minutes at a normal walking pace. You can expect 40 minutes with children. The cabin is located at 252 meters above sea level.
