Drive across the Lysefjord Bridge to the end of Stølsvegen road in Øvre Espedal in Forsand. The walk starts on a tractor road that winds its way up the steep hillside. The terrain flattens out when you come to Øvre Espedalsstølen summer pasture farm.

The path then passes between cabins and on through juniper bushes and small birch trees before it crosses the river, which may be difficult without getting your feet wet if the water level is high.

The path continues through heathland and open landscape. Just before you get to the top, the path passes the wreck of a plane that crashed on the mountain during World War II.

From the top, you look out across the landscape you have just traversed, and the hills and mountains in the area.
