The taste of autumn

When the wind howls and the raindrops drum against the window, nothing beats retreating to warm, cosy surroundings to enjoy good food in good company. Low temperatures have their advantages, as they make the sea even richer in flavours. Autumn therefore offers great opportunities to enjoy tasty ingredients from the sea. In Haugesund and Haugalandet, there are several places where you can savour the delicacies of the sea.

Autumn in the fjord

Åkrafjorden is a hidden gem that is also worth a visit in autumn. When the mountainsides are dressed in golden colours and the morning mist lies like a veil over the fjord, it's easy to get carried away by the magnificent scenery. A trip to Langfoss - one of Norway's most beautiful waterfalls - is one of the highlights of the Åkrafjord. Here you can get so close to the waterfall that you can feel the drops of water on your face and hear the mighty roar of the water falling down the mountainside.

In Åkrafjorden you can stay in micro cabinsÅkrafjorden Nature B&B, apartments or try glamping for a unique nature experience with a little extra comfort. Waking up here, with the fjord reflecting the first rays of sunlight, gives you a sense of calm that's hard to find anywhere else. Right next to the glamping site you'll find a separate sauna, just in case you want to make your fjord experience even fresher.
